Thanks to a generous donation by a local company we have some new personal study space options on our quieter study floor. Go down one level from the entrance floor to “L” and find it in the back left corner of the building. What do you think about these spaces? Do they provide what you need for your quiet study activities?
Our appreciation goes out to Allsteel (2210 Second Avenue, Muscatine, IA 52761) for donating the furniture & big kudos to Jeff Wild with Systems Connection of Maryland (8839 Greenwood Place, Savage, MD 20763-9781) for arranging the entire process and providing free installation.

Now with power outlets so you can plug in your laptop!
Wow, these look really nice. It’s a great transition from the traditional carrel and looks like it offers a good deal of workspace. In addition, it looks large enough to not only be a place for a single person to work, but also 2 people. How have these been working out for your library?
Students seem to like them, especially since we added power outlets. Comments we received show that students want more of them and do prefer them to the traditional little wooden carrels.
